Every fifth Saturday, our Closer Walk initiative brings warmth and nourishment to unhoused adults in Chinatown. In just two years, we've served over 700 home cooked meals to 100–200 individuals per event—primarily Hispanic (60%), White (30%), and Black (10%) men (75%) and women (25%). This outreach is powered by 22 volunteers, including cooks, servers, musicians, and assistants, and supported by New Life Church and Closer Walk. Meals are prepared with love and donated ingredients, creating moments of dignity and connection for those facing homelessness.
